Architectural Control Committee

A main goal of the Pinecliff Homeowners’ Association Architectural Control Committee is to preserve the pristine nature, quality, and beauty of our neighborhood and value of our homes. Common covenant violations go against this goal and will be addressed. Even though membership in the PHOA is voluntary, homeowner compliance to the legally enforceable covenants is mandatory.

Wildfire Mitigation

Pinecliff is a Firewise neighborhood! 7 Firewise Tips

The Waldo Canyon Fire and in particular, the events of Tuesday June 26, 2012, serve as a stark reminder of how important it is to maintain our property in such a manner as to minimize our risk during any future wildfire. That fire came much closer to Pinecliff then you might realize. A captain from station #12 noticed that firebrands had jumped Centennial Blvd. during the Waldo Canyon Fire and started a small grass fire in Ute Valley Park. By reacting quickly, our fire department was able to contain that fire before it spread within the park and ultimately into our neighborhood. It can happen here.

The following video is a taped presentation to Pinecliff residents from the CSFD describing fire mitigation techniques. This video no longer can be used to satisfy the chipper program signup requirements. Please go to the following website and sign up. Each year members have to sign up again and go to an in person meeting.

Here is a short list of suggested things to do to minimize your risk of property damage during a wildfire event:

  • Remove dead, diseased, and weakened trees from your property
  • Prune lower tree branches to a height no more than 1/3 the tree’s height
  • Remove pine needles, leaves, and debris from the ground
  • Keep grass and weeds mowed below a maximum height of 4 inches
  • Do not use area under decks for storage
  • Store firewood at least 15 ft. away from the house and decks
  • Plan and rehearse an escape plan
  • Vegetation within 10 ft. of the structure may be removed if necessary to comply with the Fuels Management Ordinance
  • No vegetation is to be removed within Preservation Areas except to comply with the Fuels Management Ordinance
  • Ensure your address is clearly marked and visible from the street
